Abstract
Memory has been studied by both scientists and philosophers for the way it works and it's impact in our society. Memory is a basic element of the identity of a person as well as of society, because of the way it connects the past with the present. But memory is not just constructs of the mind, we also strive to create things as proof that something existed. We create mementos and monuments just to bring the past a little closer. This thesis is about memory and the mementos we use in our private and public life. There are two parts, a theoretical analysis and a photo essay.
