Abstract
The thesis focuses on the relationship between history and literature in the novels of Isidoros Zourgos, "On the Soul" and "In the Shadow of the Butterfly". Through the analysis of these works, we explore how the author incorporates historical events, social contexts, and cultural references into his narrative, creating a rich backdrop for the stories and characters. Additionally, we examine how literature can serve as a tool for interpreting and depicting historical events, and how this is linked to the formation of social and cultural memory. Through this approach, the thesis seeks to highlight the importance of literature as a means of both revealing and preserving historical and cultural memory.
