Abstract
Today’s society where we live is rightly characterized as an information society. There are many ways in which people cum access and then gather information material.
However, having now incorporated modern technologies in our daily lives and taking advantage of the facilities and amenities they offer us, the approach and finding from sources, books, magazines articles, etc. For material that interests us, enhances the information process. Knowledge and information is a right of all people and does not allow for social segregation and discrimination, because if people can enhance their knowledge and at the same time become more educate society will “Improve” for the benefit of humanity and their quality of life people will change for the better.
In particular, globalty the various sciences that scientists study and develop on a daily basis are constantly enriched though modern information technologies and produce new data and information.
One of these sciences is the science of music which has the ability to be expressed and interpreted by human activity but also by the enhancement of modern technologies and the means at their disposal.
More specifically, the result of a combination of music information and modern technologies is the driving force for the evolution of science. But in addition to modern technologies the means at their disposal and the already existing musical information a very important skill that must be possessed by the interested scientist- researchers is the information literacy.
Information literacy is the ability of the individual to be able to cut out the information material that interests him from a multitude of information and then to reach the optimal result of his research.
This is also the main theme of my work, in which I first analyzed the definition of information and then the way in which information literacy contribute to the conduct of new knowledge.
Then, after analyzing and identifying how they relate to each other, I adapted them to the science of music and how they all together contribute to the conduct of new musical information and knowledge in the various places where scientists interested in the subject can seek and draw material that is music libraries, archives, collections, etc.
