Abstract
This thesis is focused on the creation of a custom sound library, meaning the collection and categorization of both recorded sounds and soundscapes. These sounds are intended to be used in movies, video art projects, promotional videos, performances etc. The process of recording happened in both internal and external places, as well as in the recording studio. Furthermore, the soundscapes were created using the existing recordings. Here are presented five basic sound categories. The recordings took place in five geographical locations of Greece, Corfu, Mesolonghi, Oreini Nafpaktia, Athens and Santorini. The soundscapes, on the other hand, were created after studying the theoretical and technical aspects of Electroacoustic Music and by adding personal artistic characteristics. Finally, the last chapters refer to the evolution of sound design in cinema and its artistic connection to electroacoustic music.
