Abstract
Nowadays there is a strong interest in the educational community and society, which focuses on innovative technologies and more specifically on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) education and robotics, which have recently developed a lot. The learning process and the development of students' skills can undoubtedly be supported and developed through the value of STEAM education and robotics as all communication and problem-solving skills are developed, real life problems. This research study was completed as part of a real process, with the aim of studying educational robotics in kindergarten students who performed educational activities with STEAM training and utilizing the programmable Blue Bot robot to raise their awareness on environmental issues and especially water pollution. The young students developed and acquired knowledge of programming and algorithmic thinking in a playful way through the use of the educational robot and managed to develop their cognitive and communication skills. Eight educational activities were performed on children aged 4 to 6 years. The children participated in a robotics workshop and a STEAM training program on water and its conservation in the environment. The current research study revealed that students through the motivations given to them to deal with the subject managed to acquire knowledge and skills in computational thinking and coding, as well as managed to gain interdisciplinary contact with the topic they dealt with. environment and were activated by gaining an ecological awareness and awareness of climate change.
