Abstract
This project was carried out during the postgraduate courses: “Digital application and Innovations” of the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University.
The aim of this work is to create a Mobile app and a Web app, for smart cities utilizing IoT technologies.
With mobile application, users can report various daily issues/problems in their city to inform the com-petent service of the Municipality to manage their solution, while with web app, they can be informed about the problems that have already been mentioned. Utilizing IoT technologies, users can see real-time the environmental conditions in the city. Also, with IoT technology users will be able to see on map the available parking lots as well as the spots available on them. They can also be informed about News, An-nouncements, Events about their city.
As the huge use of smart phones in our lives, I believe that a "smart city" requires to adopt a mobile appli-cation with which citizens will actively participate in dealing with everyday problems in their city and at the same time they will communicate and be informed about various issues. This mobile application was developed using the platform KODULAR for Android application development in combine with Firebase. The WEB application was developed with Cms WordPress, Html and JavaScript. About the IoT section, used the ESP8266 microcontrollers with the DHT2 2 temperature-humidity sensor and HC-SR501 PIR sensor.
