Abstract
The present thesis entitled “Web documentary: Chasing humanity” presents the evolution of digital technology and by extension the web documentary that has appeared in recent years and is a new method of creating documentary films. An initial description of the term documentary is given, followed by an analysis of the terms “internet”, “new media art”, and “interactive-web documentary”. There is also an analysis of the characteristics of this genre, while there is also a description of examples of interactive documentaries. Then the creation of the Chasing humanity project is presented, the theme of which is volunteering in Thessaloniki. An analysis is made of the content and the way the web documentary was created. Finally, there is a description of the conclusions of the present work and a reference to the bibliography for undertaking the theoretical part of the work.
