Abstract
The object of the present study is the film tourism, as well as the perspective and the danger of this kind of tourism, due to Corfu is a location that it could be used for filming.
The aim of this research is to define the film tourism as an alternative option, also to abroad the way and capabilities that provide salience in the present destination to approach more tourism and film producers. Furthermore, to illustrate the impact, either positive or negative, in the natural and cultural environment of the location and the daily life of the locals.
Specifically, we provided the development causes in film tourism in corfu and the positive aspects and weaknesses or lack of the specific sector. Given that the attitude and the cooperation of the locals of an area can play a significant role in choosing it as a film destination. The aim was to examine the common opinion of Corfu in relation to benefits or risks that may arise for the island as well as the intention to participate of the population in actions related to film tourism.
To sum up, film productions provide a significant tool for the tourist development of a destination with the requirement of a perfect corporation of the sector and the residents. Despite all the difficulties, Corfu has the potential to grow further the film industry and bring out into a significant tourism destination.
