Abstract
This assignment is based on the translation of the article written by Jim O’Brien, professor on the Solent University, which analyzes the blooming of the world- known rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, during the Franco dictatorship from 1939 until 1975 and which factors led to the creation of what is nowadays called El Clasico. The translation is in Greek and is accompanied with a commentary, explaining the different translation problems and challenges occurred during this process and what were their solutions. The commentary is based on the theory presented by Christiane Nord in her book “Translating as a purposeful activity” and by Jeremy Munday in his book “Introducing Translation Studies: Theories and applications”. Finally, the bibliography used for this assignment is presented, including all the online sources.
