Abstract
The present project introduces the importance of the song, its usage and its role in pre-training students of the third-grade of a Special High School in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, under the educational program Lifeforce ( erasmus+), at the time period: February 2023- April 2023. The Lifeforce program is implemented by scientists and trained teachers and aims at information, preparation and pre-training of preschool students, so that they can recognize the symptoms of a cardiac arrest and follow the specifically adapted algorithm of CPR. My participation and contribution to this specific program was the pre-training of students of a Special High School to the custom algorithm of CPR, in 10-12 meetings/courses in a period of two months, by using music and song as the basic means. In more details, part of the pre-training were five students of the third grade Special High School. Two of them have mild mental retardation, the other two have autism and the last one has Down syndrome. Through the five songs of Lifeforce and the ukelele accompaniment, through rhythm, movements mimics, improvised instruments (maracas and drums) and body percussion, students were introduced to the custom algorithm of CPR. The songs of the program describe how the students can recognize the basic symptoms of a cardiac arrest and how to practise the custom algorithm of CPR and call the emergency number 112. At the end, a presentation of the songs took place at the foyer of the school from the students of the third grade for the rest of the students and the teachers. After the presentation at the foyer, the five songs of the program were recorded by mobile phone at the same classroom where the lessons were held for two months
