Abstract
This thesis focuses on the translation of an excerpt from the work "Linguistics and the Third Reich" by Christofer M. Hutton, which is a short biography of the linguist Solomon Birnbaum, and the commentary on the translation difficulties that arose. The paper analyzes the various translation choices made during the translation, examining aspects such as the linguistic requirements of the text. In addition, the paper analyzes the translation difficulties due to the complex linguistic structure of the text, as well as the need to maintain the accuracy and authenticity of the content. We try to convey the specific terms accurately and present the information in the target language in a way that is understandable and easy to read. Finally, the thesis evaluates the quality of the translation based on criteria such as the accuracy of the translation performance, the coherence and the clarity of the text in the Greek language. Analyzing translation choices and commenting on them provides a comprehensive understanding of how to translate and the challenges that arise during the translation process.
