Item type:Publication, «Μελέτη τεχνικών, όρων και λεξιλογίου ειδών συμπεριληπτικής γλώσσας μέσω τρίγλωσσων παράλληλων σωμάτων κειμένων (el-en-fr) πέντε διαφορετικών κειμενικών ειδών»(2023-06-29) ;Χελιδώνη, Βασιλική ;Τσίγκου, Μαρία. ;Σωσώνη, Βιλελμίνη.Λίβας, Σωτήρης.This study presents the adoption, from the members of the translation community, of the techniques, terms, and vocabulary that serve the existence of inclusive language kinds in the translations produced. In brief, binary reference techniques and terms, neutral reference terms, and disability reference vocabulary are presented to highlight the use of non-sexist binary, gender-neutral and disability-inclusive language. In fact, the identification of the integration or not of the inclusive language kinds in the translation products is carried out by exploiting parallel corpora, which include texts of different text genres, in order to observe the management of inclusive language in the various text genres [ranging from the most standardized (notices of vacancy, regulatory texts) to the most creative (WEB texts, audiovisual texts, literary texts)]. In particular, the process of deriving conclusions per text genre is implemented simultaneously for all three working languages (el-en-fr), given the trilingual nature of the created parallel corpora. Finally, the results coming from the corpus management and text analysis software Sketch Engine are studied separately in three axes, which concern the frequency of use, word patterns, and fixed expressions, as well as communicative circumstances and conceptual networks, of inclusive language kinds. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Μετάφραση και Σχολιασμός της «Παρουσίασης της ενημερωτικής έκθεσης σχετικά με την ευρωπαϊκή μεταρρύθμιση του δικαιώματος ασύλου» (2019), του κ. Ludovic Mendes και της κ. Marietta Karamanli.(2021-06-02) ;Χελιδώνη, Βασιλική ;Πολίτης, Μιχάλης.Καρλάφτη-Μουρατίδη, Φωτεινή.This dissertation entitled Translation and Commentary on the "Presentation of the information report on European asylum reform" (2019), by Ludovic Mendes and Marietta Karamanli was prepared as part of my undergraduate studies at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting, Faculty of Humanities of the Ionian University during the academic year 2020-2021. This essay, which consists mainly of the translation of the information report of the French National Assembly, focuses on the right to asylum, a timeless issue of both European and Greek reality. As far as the structure is concerned, at the beginning of the essay, there is the source text of about 4000 words, which I found on the official website of the French National Assembly. This text is followed by its translation as well as a 3000-word commentary. Finally, in this commentary, through the comparison of the source and the translated text, the problems I encountered during the translation process are presented, while the translation strategies I applied to solve them are also justified.
